KiwiSaver is a voluntary savings scheme that allows you to save for your retirement. It enables you to build a nest egg by making regular contributions from your salary, or if you are not working, directly to the scheme provider.

  • Contributions can be at a rate of 3%, 4%, 6%, 8% or 10% of your salary.

  • An advantageous feature of this savings scheme is that along with your contributions, your employer will also contribute towards your savings.
If you are over 18 the Government will pay 50 cents for every dollar of member contributions up to a maximum payment of $521.43.

  • You can also make changes to this scheme as your situation changes.

  • You can access your funds from the age of 65.

  • You can make a withdrawal from your KiwiSaver savings for a first home deposit.
